SALUTE TO THE DUKE is the second programme for this new Big Band in the Highlands. After last year’s fantastic success in Nairn and Boat of Garten, the band will offer another great selection and variety of big band music. This time, they will put the spotlight on music from composer, band leader and pianist Duke Ellington, who died 50 years ago this year. Join us in Nairn on the evening of Friday 7 June at 7.30 pm, or come along during the afternoon in Strathpeffer on Sunday 9 June at 3 pm. The programme includes an interval.

SHADES OF SAMMY is the first ever performance series of the band, featuring classic Big Band hits from the Jazz Master Sammy Nestico as well as contemporary tunes. With fast swing, smooth ballads and groovy funk, the energy of this talented collective will surely impress.
